Cream Cheese Wontons

Introduction
Crispy, homemade version of this favorite restaurant-style finger food. This goes great with any Asian-inspired dish.
How to make it:
Mix together cream cheese, sugar, & onion powder.
Place wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Drop a tsp of filling on the center of each wrapper.
Brush the edges with egg.
Bring 2 opposite corners of wrapper together in the middle & pinch. Repeat with opposite corners to form a package shape. Repeat with all wrappers.
Heat 4 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350 F.
Fry 5-6 at a time, turning as needed to brown evenly. Should take 3-5 minutes.
Drain on a paper towel.
Sprinkle with chives and serve with your favorite dipping sauce (Sweet & Sour, Sweet Chili, etc.).

8 oz cream cheese,softened
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 egg beaten
Oil for frying
Optional: 2 tsp minced chives
